I had freckles on my face ever since I was a child. Usually they would appear on the nose and cheeks in spring, last throughout the summer and become completely invisible in autumn and winter. They never really troubled me until past few years, when I started noticing lots of pigmentation appearing all over my face and body, after I’ve spent about two years living by the sea. That’s when I finally understood that my skin is not sun-tolerant. Ever since sunbathing is not much fun for me and I give attention to skincare products that promise to make skin even and will help to get rid of pigmentation. Kruidvat cream against pigmentation was the one I decided to try recently to combat extra patches and make skin more even.

Packaging. Cream is packaged in a white tube with a twist-top. For me such packaging has both swings and roundabouts. On the one hand, a twist-top makes use of the cream hygienic, but on the other, when the cream ends, it becomes hard to get out of the tube.

Scent. Light smell, similar to the smell of medicinal skin creams that you can get in a drugstore.

Consistency. The cream has a heavy texture.

Application and wear. Application is not very easy. Due to its heavy texture cream becomes hard to spread all over the face and you really have to rub it into your skin, which does not make anything good to it. Besides, cream is too greasy for oily and combo skin, especially in summer – skin feels tacky and doesn’t look absolutely matte after cream application.

Inscriptions on the tube say that significant visible results will come after using the cream for at least 6-8 weeks. The cream can be used as a single skin care product or together with your regular face products.

Did it do what it said it would? I started using the product on June 15 and was applying it on a daily basis twice a day. It’s almost August 15 now, which makes full two months. I was checking my skin for the presence of pigmentation and I can see that all the spots are still there. However, the cream hydrates skin nicely and leaves it soft and SPF 15 is protective enough, as I didn’t notice any new spots appearing on my face.

General impressions. Not that I would expect a “wow” result after all, especially taking into consideration low price, but I was hoping at least for some results.

I was applying this cream in the morning and in the evening all over my face and onto the neck, but for some reason the cream ended quite fast – I have to stop using it now after two months as there’s nothing left in the tube (usually the cream would last me for at least four months). I believe that that is due to the texture, which is too thick and each time using it you apply extra amount onto the face.

Did it do what it said it would? Nothing significant for me.

Will I buy it again? No.
